What is an Internist?
General internists handle the broad and comprehensive spectrum of illnesses that affect adults and are recognized as experts in diagnosis, in treatment of chronic illness and in health promotion. They are not, however limited to one type of medical problem or organ system. General internists often care for patients over the duration of their adult lives providing the doctor an opportunity to establish long and rewarding relationships with each of their patients.

 

How do I get my prescriptions refilled?
A prescription can be refilled by calling our main number at (843) 266-4400 and then dialing the prompt #4. You will be directed to the prescription line where you may be asked to leave a message with your prescription request. We ask that when you call, speak slowly and clearly into the phone leaving your name, date of birth, your telephone number, the name of the drug, the dosage, the name of the pharmacy and the pharmacy phone number. Please include any special instructions if necessary. Before picking up your prescription, please call your pharmacy to verify the completion of your prescription request. Please allow 24 hours for all refill requests. If you are picking up a written prescription from our office you will be required to show a picture ID.

 

What do I do in case of an emergency?
In the case of an emergency, please call 911. If you would like to be seen by a board certified doctor after our regular business hours, visit one of the Roper St. Francis After Hours Care facilities. Our office handles acute illness and simple lacerations. We are a Roper St. Francis Healthcare office and we can refer you to the nearest facility if need be.

 

What insurances do you accept?
We accept most insurance plans. Please call our office to find out if your insurance plan is accepted.
